This question is really important, so in this article we will explain in detail what F-Clean laser systems are made of and compare them with their Chinese counterparts.
IPG Photonics Laser emitter
70% of the cost of the system is the laser radiation source. We use emitters from IPG Photonics, the market leader in fiber lasers. To date, their products are unparalleled in quality of components, reliability and guaranteed service life.
The service life of similar transmitters, such as those made in China, is much lower. They are more likely to fail. It is impossible to contact the manufacturer to repair the laser transmitter or to replace some of its parts: optical fiber, diode array, etc.
When selecting a laser cleaner, pay attention to the manufacturer of the laser source and its power. A transmitter with a power of 100 W or more will handle a lot of dirt.
Focusing optics
The optics are the next most important element in any laser system. It focuses the laser light and ensures the movement of the laser beam. The optics influence the power of the laser light that reaches the surface to be cleaned. The more power it retains, the more effective the cleaning process will be.
Incorrect beam shape does not result in cleaning, but heating of the surface.
The glass from which the optical elements are made must be free of internal defects. It is important that the glass and mirrors have a quality antireflection coating. It affects the efficiency of reflection and transmission of laser radiation at a given wavelength. The high cost of optical elements as a part of any laser complex is connected with it.
Poor-quality optical elements, especially when working with high-power laser pulses, will lead to gradual damage of the antireflection coating and destruction of optical elements due to heating.

A gun with intelligent ergonomics
A quality transmitter and optics are key elements of laser devices. They need reliable protection. For this purpose, Pokkels has developed a gun that protects the optics, maintains optimal cooling levels, and has a handy display that shows the current settings.
The F-Clean gun is optimum weight, ergonomic and functional equipment, easy to operate and maintain. We receive customer feedback and improve the gun design in new revisions based on it.
The sealed design of the gun provides additional protection of the optics against dust. Since Pokkels are designed to last a long time, it is important that dust does not enter the housing.
Unfortunately, not all manufacturers of similar equipment care about dust protection. Because of this dust begins to accumulate on the optical elements and leads to a delay of radiation. Part of radiation is absorbed by dust and goes into heat. As a result the internal elements of optics get heated and the device fails.
Protecting optical elements from dust is the key to quality cleaning and long life of the device.
Safety margin for reliable operation
The long service life of a device requires quality components and optimum loading so that the equipment does not run at its limits. For this purpose, we at Pokkels select components that provide twice the safety margin. Overloads are avoided. This is why such components have a higher price.

Operating life of 50 years without costs
The F-Clean laser system really has no maintenance costs. All maintenance consists only in keeping the unit itself and the external optical elements clean: the protective glass is wiped down with a lint cloth, the filters are blown at the inlet to the cooling system. The rest of the equipment is well protected and has a large safety margin. No service or maintenance work on the manufacturer’s side. All maintenance is done in-house. If repairs are necessary, Pokkels is always there for you quickly.
